For our March 2021 Monthly Serve—Serve the City Detroit is seeking to encourage the teachers and staff at Burns Elementary/Middle School located in the city of Detroit for “Pi Day.” We are seeking to purchase a piece of delicious pie for each teacher and staff member at Burns Elementary/Middle School from a wonderful Detroit owned business called “Sister Pie Detroit”. Each employee from Burns Elementary/Middle School will receive a freshly baked piece of pie and a note of encouragement from our volunteer community.
We need your help!! Would you join us in encouraging the teachers and staff at Burns Elementary/Middle School??
We need to mobilize volunteers to help with the following:
- Sponsor the price of a piece of pie (approximately $5 per slice). We need to purchase 50 slices of pie (UPDATE: a generous family has donated the resources to purchase all 50 pieces of pie!!!)
- Write out a thank you card/note of encouragement for a staff member of Burns Elementary/Middle School (We need to collect 50 cards/notes of encouragement so maybe you could write out a few cards?!)
- 3-4 volunteers to help collect and deliver the slices of pie and notes of encouragement to the staff members at Burns Elementary/Middle School on March 16 between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM
